TravelExpo Ankara International Tourism and Travel Fair
Organised for the 7th time this year, TravelExpo Ankara International Tourism and Travel Fair opened its doors to offer a rich tourism experience to its participants. The fair attracts attention with the representatives of 6 major regions of Russia. Inat Bilgin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Inat Fuarcılık, the organiser of the fair, said in his speech at the opening ceremony : “This year, Russia provided the most active participation in the fair. Approximately 60 companies, agencies and hotels participated in the fair by opening stands. Six important regions of Russia are represented here. These are Tatarstan, Republic of Chechnya, Adygea, Moscow, St. Petersburg and Tver region. In the coming days, we will discuss the potential development of relations between our countries.”
Referring to the critical role of tourism in Russian-Turkish relations,Russian Ambassador to Ankara Alexey Yerhov said : “This is a classic case where both sides adopt the win-win principle. However, tourism should not be limited to Russians coming to Turkey for holidays. We also invite Turkish citizens to visit our country. There are many interesting places to see and good places to spend time in Russia. We have very interesting and beautiful regions on display at the exhibition. There is also the Rosatom stand dedicated to our nuclear industry. I invite all guests of this exhibition, representatives of the Turkish tourism industry to visit our stands and discover the opportunities that Russia offers.”
Yerhov also drew attention to the number of Russian tourists visiting Turkey this year and said : “According to statistics, 5.5 million Russian citizens visited Turkey in the first nine months of this year, and Russia ranked first in this indicator. However, the year is not over yet; we hope to reach or even exceed last year’s figure of 6.3 million by the end of the year.”
At the TravelExpo Ankara International Tourism and Travel Fair, which will continue until 17 November, hundreds of travel agencies and hotels from Turkey, as well as Russia, Africa, Latin America, Europe and Asian countries are promoting to the participants by opening stands.
