Nikki Haley’s Response to Donald Trump
Nikki Haley, the former Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations (UN), responded to Donald Trump’s announcement that he would not include her in his new cabinet. According to the Washington Post, Haley said in a statement, “I have no intention of being in his cabinet. He knows that too,” she said. Haley said that Trump was trying to humiliate her in front of the public and stated that she “knows the games Trump plays and that he sometimes displays a shallow behaviour”.
Haley, who was Trump’s strongest rival in the Republican Party primaries earlier this year, later decided to withdraw from the race. In a few months, Haley had a change of heart from saying that Donald Trump was ‘unfit for office’ to supporting him on stage at the Republican National Convention. Sharing on social media, Donald Trump stated that he would not invite former UN Permanent Representative Haley and former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo to his new cabinet. After this statement, Haley wished Trump success in his mission.

Nikki Haley is a politician and diplomat from the Republican Party. She served as the Permanent Representative of the United States to the United Nations in 2017-2018.
Nimarata Nikki Haley served as the 116th governor of South Carolina between 2011 and 2017 before becoming the UN Representative. In January 2017, she resigned as governor to become the US Ambassador to the UN under Donald Trump. Announcing her campaign for the US Presidency in February 2023, Haley stood out as the only major candidate competing against Trump in the Republican primaries. Haley campaigned against Trump for nearly two months, defeating him in the District of Columbia and Vermont. However, on 6 March 2024, she suspended her campaign and decided to withdraw from the race.
